The RTX 3090 is not the RTX 4090. 2*8-pin RTX 3090 boards do not route power the same way and even if they did exceeding PCI-E spec on the 8-pin connectors is neither unstable, unsafe, or underhanded. The spec is ancient and quality PSUs and cables can radically exceed it, with negligible risks.Apparently OCCT is very shader heavy and destroys air cooled 4090s, for me the core temp goes to 72- 73, with hotspot shooting all the way up to 94. More than 20C above core temperature. Keep in mind this is with 450w power limit. That's usually when errors start to get reported.

Hey gang, Didn't need to, but heck, joined the 4090 club (FE card). OC-wise, I'm getting core speeds up to 3000-3015 Mhz stable (+180 offset, 1.1V) and +1750Mhz on the VRAM without artifacting. From what I read here, my chip is sort of average in terms of core OC capability, and I'm in the higher tier for the VRAM.
