Hello all, 2009 Pilot EX-L with ~ 134k at the time. TL : DR summary. 1) Check spool valve for oil leaks otherwise expensive repairs could be forthcoming. 2) Hope new plugs cure misfire. Changing plugs tough on middle aged frame. 3) There are too many scumbags in this world.I tried the replacement gaskets and it still leaked. Looking at here and the OdyClub forum many people are lucky and the gaskets work, but some unlucky ones like me end up having to buy the OEM spool assembly from the dealer ($250!) to get it to stop leaking.

Save yourself from tearing apart the front head to fix this oil leak. Sadly, Honda doesn't sell the gasket and you need to buy the whole VTEC assembly, this also requires you to remove the front valve cover and camshaft assembly to replace it. Warm water + soap + pump (pressurize) and then spray around with engine hot. I keep the spray pointed instead of wide. Repeat one more gallon if needed.
