So I took a few photos along the way and created this thread to share my experience and contribute some info. And of course I'm always looking for ...Recently purchased a pontoon with an outboard. It has a center toon that covers about the back 1/3 of the boat. I imagine is is to offset the weight of the engine and help maintain a level boat. My question is this, should the circled hole be plugged? The previous owner never plugged it and the top is entirely open. Just seems odd.Re: 3rd log with transom. Just thougt of a possible problem, when you cut the end of the tube out you will lose the back baffle and will have to come up with a round plate to weld into the front of the new motor well. My Costs: Added a third toon to my 2007 boat for $4000. Included shipping to dealer, installation, remounting of motor etc. The factory also rerated boat up to a 225hp. To add a new 150hp cost about 12500. My old engine and rigging is worth maybe 5500 to 6000. Thus another say 7000 net cost for new engine.
