Hunted with one a couple of weekends ago at 4B's in Missouri. Hunting buddy of mine had found a deal on a 20 ga. He bought the gun because the finish--especially for the price--impressed him. I have to agree. I carried it on one of our hunts and really liked the fit and feel of it.The Ringneck 16 ga was on a scaled frame although you wouldn't know it by placing one on a scale. They went about 7 1/2 pounds or a little more depending on the stock wood. I really prefer my 16 ga SXS's to be around 6 1/2 to 6 3/4 pounds for bird hunting, so my 16 ga Ringneck doesn't get a lot of work nowadays.
Dang, the Ringneck has been replaced by the Sharp-Tail. New design receiver, floating firing pins, coil hammer springs and the beautiful POW stock replaced by a pistol grip. No 16 ga in the Sharp-Tail lineup, only in the Bobwhite now. I never heard a peep about any of this, anybody else caught by surprise?
730 posts · Joined 2007. #11 · Jan 5, 2024. I have a 12 ga. CZ Sharptail target and it is OK for the price point. I have not shot it much but it has been 100% reliable so far. The biggest concern I have with it and any other Turkish single trigger shotgun is that the trigger pulls can be too high.
