It was a faulty update. If you think you're experiencing the same problem, go to Device Manager > Display adaptors > [your graphics driver] > Right click > Properties > Driver > Rollback. After I uninstalled the update, the game started working right then. I didn't even have to restart Steam.

Sounds like your cc files got corrupted. All you need to do it delete your cc files which can be found be going to this pc > user > your user > appdata > local > geometry dash. Just scroll all the way down until you find 4 cc files. Delete them and try opening again. Note that thos will cause you to lose save data and if you dont see appdata ...
