Mar 17, 2012 · The gun doesn't take long to clean at all. This is my first .22 and I love it so far. It is a joy to shoot and CHEAP to plink with. I usually shoot an Armalite AR-15, and HK USP .45 and a Beretta 92FS. This gun is a wonderful addition to my collection because it is solid, trouble free, cheap to shoot and easy to maintain. Previous version of the GSG-16 (the GSG-5 and GSG-522) where too similar to the MP5 and so GSG had to make a third version less MP5-ish. That said the GSG-16 has all the same controls as the MP5 so for training purposes it would be very suitable. I loaded a dummy round and pulled the charge lever to eject and it pulled the round out but it didnt eject.
