So I just bought a 2002 RC51 that came with a set of SP1 forks rebuilt by traxxion dynamics and sprung for a 180 lb rider. The problem is, the stanchions are pitted and rusted. I want to replace them and install the correct springs for my weight (~170 with gear). I have two sets of stock SP2 forks in good condition.

The procedure for installing the front wheel is as follows: Take the wheel, put the spacers on and put it in between the forks and slide the axle through. Install the axle bolt on the right side and torque to 43 ft lbs. Install the axle clamp bolts on the right fork and torque to 16 ft lbs. NOTE, I found that the pimpbikes undertail does not fit the SP2 RC51 (2002+) without modifications (cutting). The OEM undertray is different between the SP1 and SP2, especially with how the ECU sits in the tray. I recently ordered and received my RC51 pimpbikes.com undertail off of ebay.
