Holley carb date codes.

From everything I've read Holley dates through 1972 are 3 digits and 73 and later are 4-digits. To be honest I don't know if the 1965 carbs were coded the same as the 1969's. I have seen carbs with the DZ letters with date codes into the 70's. They are over the counter replacement carbs. It might still have some worth but not near as much as a correct dated carb.

Have a holley with the below numbers on the choke horn: Original GM carb: List-4053 8A1: 3923289-DZ. Did a search on this: 1968 Jan 68. Looked like it could have been on a 396 375 hp car also?? Came off a running car 6 months ago. Looks like super rare opional painted Vacuum and main body edition.
