I haven't done a 3100 in a bit, but I'm positive the 3800 switches from metric to SAE when you hit the LIM. Get new lower o-rings for your injectors and use vaseline to re-seat them. Order your gaskets from GMPartsDirect.The UIM gaskets only come as Nylon 6,6, the LIM gaskets are the ones that come in nylon 6,6 and the reliable aluminum framed one. I still use Dex Cool as well, as long as you bleed the air out when you maintain it as you should, then I don't think you'll really have a problem with it, some do a full flush and run Zerex G5..The intake gaskets weren't updated to Aluminum until after (~2012) all 3800's stopped being produced (2008). Therefore, no 3800 ever cane with them originally. If you see black edge on your LIM gaskets, near the injectors, they haven't been upgraded to aluminum versions (some cheaper knock offs now exist, along with AC Delco ones).

The LIM Gasket failure on the 3800 II should be common knowledge to most mechanics, unless they are just shade tree mechanics, that is in my opinion. Have the lower intake manifold gasket changed to FEL-PRO Part # MS98014T, and have the EGR stove pipe swapped to the reduced diameter one that comes in that kit.
