After doing some research online, most of the information talks about the normal cause being the breakdown of the differential fluid and replacing the fluid fixes the problem. I'm getting an intermittent squealing from one of the wheels while driving. It's very high pitched, not a rumble, and intermittent: it comes and goes, chirping several times a second, occasionally lasting for a couple of seconds. It's related to road speed, not engine speed, and it's coming from one side of the car, so I'm pretty sure it's a wheel.

Quick update. Got a bit sidetracked restoring an 06 CRV for my GF(more information on that in the Gen2 thread if you're interested). Had a few days of rain here. Noticed that silenced the noise.
