Well, I'll be honest, I appreciate the 300-page doc, but I hated reading it and never finished it. This is apparently really common on this sub, which is a large part of why I now recommend the 80-page doc over the 300-page one, and Anki decks above both. As far as the research methods, I don't have a really great comprehensive resource for them.

I'm reading thru the doc and its incredibly boring for me. I think I need to watch the videos and then read it because I need more visuals and talking to keep me interested. Typical textbooks have more context so I can peg the info, but its all barebones stuff and not as much context.Kaplan seriously is missing a lot of socy and KA supplements it well. I just went through the entire Kaplan P/S book + watched every KA socy video (there aren’t too many, sat myself down for an evening) and took notes on that. If I ever felt uncomfortable with something in the 86 pg doc, I'd watch the corresponding KA video. YMMV, but I ended up with a 132 in P/S. Im doing the OCD PS notes because i only have about 4 days left. I would say if you have time and you work better when given examples, 300 pg notes would be better for you. But if you are good with just knowing definitions and some examples (not all the words have examples), then the 100 pg would be more your style.

I really enjoyed all the mnemonics and pictures. Definitely memorize this document cold since it follows the AAMC content guide to the T.
