As above - in neutral it should start - kickstand up or down! 1995 en500 stock with windshield - 40,000 miles.Mar 21, 2013 · I'll bet you'll find the battery is toast. Every time the battery drops below 12.4v, it sulphates. Too much sulphation, and it no longer holds an adequate charge. The Vulcan 500 should have no problems starting or operating in very cold temperatures (other than being just a little fickle like any carbed bike, but it will definitely crank)

2008 VN1600 crank but no start. Hello all, new member here. Having a no start issue. Bike is a 2008 kawasaki vulcan nomad 1600. Currently has 66,447 miles on it. No modifications, all stock. Tank is half full of new gas. Battery is fully charged. I checked the voltage at the terminals when trying to start and it is reading 10.8v on my meter.

Get both readings and compare them to the battery voltage and the manual for recharge voltage. If it's off then get it replaced. 900 problems. O.K. been riding since 1959 and have had everything going and some no longer going so I know all bikes have their own 'quirks'. I need to downsize from my C-90 at my age (knees are shot, back spasms etc). Really like the looks and feel of the 900. If you have the manual, check for proper clearance at the lever.
