The food at the two is comparable. At times Excellence might be a little better, but Elegance has more variety and choices. Night life we found really boring at Ex. , and quite enjoyable at Majestic. I don't know where you got the idea that ME is more "crowded", unless you are talking about the beach.

We loved this resort and the staff, so I wanted to share our experiences with you. The Majestic resorts are actually three resorts side-by-side in Punta Cana. There is the Colonial, the Elegance and the Mirage.

The club sections in the Majestic Elegance and Majestic Colonial are adult only, but there are still kids throughout the rest of the resort. The Colonial has more kids than the Elegance by far. Based on what you want, I think Breathless would be a better fit for a solo travel in their 30s out of the 3 resorts. Dreams is all family. Elegance has family and AO sections. At Dreams, depending on the category booked you could be in a building closest to the ocean. At Elegance, only the AOs are next to the ocean. Family buildings are further in.
