Here's a conversion, the new mak90 flats are .050", just right for Russian front trunnions (with minor milling). The problem is, the mak90 flats are 3/8" longer, which creates a dust cover fit issue. Since Norinco front trunnions are unavailable, the flat is a better option over the 1mm.

If straight cut, you can use standard wood stocks with some very minor fitting (MAK90 has 1.5mm stamping instead of AKM's 1.0mm). It's my understanding you'll need a different screw for the pistol grip, since the screw used in the grip area of the butthole stock is shorter. I may be wrong, though - it's been many years since I had a MAK. Mak-90 screws are about a inch shorter. You can still find them for around 10.00.
