Yes. The P229 when it was originally introduced in 1992 did not have a rail. That continued I believe at least into into the late 1990s and maybe longer. I am pretty sure the rail-less P229s all had Legacy slides with the half-height serrations and short external extractor, which will probably affect the holster fit.Dec 13, 2014 · Sig P230 - W. Used DA/SA P229's are usually in the $550-$700 range depending on condition. I might pay a little more for an early one. BTW, .40 S&W and .357 SIG use the same magazine in the P229.
