You're getting more functionality, if slightly less software policy. As a note taker, the polish of the reMarkable 2 is the winner. But the Note Air is the best general purpose E Ink Tablet.For reading and note taking with the notepad the boox is hands down the far superior device. I have to read lots of academic papers in various degrees of pdf quality, scan type and text type. There is absolutely no problem with those on my note air. One thing you need to pay attention to is that nova has a 7.8'' screen, I think if you want a professional PDF reading/working experience, larger screens will definitely be better choices. But if you just want to do some reading/working on the go, or you need to carry your device to different places very frequently, then nova is a good choice. The reMarkable has much less functionality, but everything about it from hardware to OS to UI is made towards a single purpose, a great (but limited) digital paper experience.
