Here's my take on it: Instead of Obi Wan slicing him apart Anakin lands the jump and gives a swift slash to Obi Wan's chest (similar to how Obi Wan defeated Darth Maul). Full of anger at one point and suddenly the bit of good in him sees his masters severed body burning in the flames of Mustafar.
So I’ve been thinking about ROTS a lot recently, specifically the duel between Anakin and Obi, and why Anakin lost despite being more skilled and powerful. Now there are a lot of well-known and confirmed reasons for his defeat: Anakin was too arrogant. Obi-Wan’s fighting style was superior and ideal against Anakin.
