From direct experience on the SSR, when replacing the ECM you have to do the security procedure that transmits the security token from the BCM to the ECM otherwise the engine will not attempt to start. There is a 10 minute version with a Tech 2, and a 30minute version that can be done with out a Tech 2. The Chevrolet SSR was a car-truck hybrid that was an interesting take, for sure.
