If you wanted, the closest you could come is buying a server, putting a password lock and then you could be good. I obviously know the technical differences between a mod and a standalone. The biggest thing for me is the movement. You have more freedom than you realize in standalone, in the mod it is a struggle to move around with precision. The mod feels more robotic, like you have to do one thing at a time.

Make sure to check the DayZ Standalone Path in the DZSA Launcher (Settings, DayZ Standalone Path, browse) and that both programs are on the same drive. Or just use the official launcher that works really good right now: Steam, Dayz, Run Dayz, in the official launcher go to Servers, find your server, join and then "Download mods and join".
