Lots of work yet to be done, but my first solution would be to have the Psuit take far more damage from ice worms. If there was anything that would be very damaging to that suit, it is ice worms. Minimum damage should be 30. Additionally, repairing, for all objects, should cost you materials relative to the object.

Most things that can hurt the seamoth. The difference is that the Prawn Suit can hurt those things back. Anything can cause it damage, just give them a whack and they'll run away. As long as you keep up on repairs you'll never lose a Prawn. When I look it up, people say you can build a radiation suit on day one with the fabricator, under personal equipment. This simply not true. I've checked every single thing I can craft and there's nothing for a radiation suit. My guess is you need to find lead first..wiki says that you get the blueprint after the ship explodes.

Using rock punchers, which have 200 health, the normal prawn arm takes 4 hits to kill. 200/4 = 50. And it takes 7 1/2 seconds to drill it to death. 200/7 1/2= 26.666666666667.
