As soon as the filter sock on the bottom of the pump gets completely full, fuel flow gets decreased, causing higher amperage draw on the pump trying to get the fuel flow needed to supply the engine, eventually burning it up. Real simple job, just don't over tighten the bolts when putting it back together. 98/01 Foreman 400/450 Halfbreed with to much to list according to the site.It's around $15 and should be part # 16706-HN8-A62. Take the fuel filter assembly off by taking off the right side cover like kentco said. You don't need to take off the mud guard but will need a small ratchet w/ a 10mm socket for the 1 bolt to the right of the fuel pump. Had a mouse build a nest behind the battery and chew the wires on the sub-harness that goes to the fuel pump relay. With fuel shut off turned to on position and tank full of gas remove the gas hose from carb. Gas should flow out real good. If it does then u prolly need to clean the carb.
