Feb 3, 2021 · I personally like Hex/Hermit/Speedster. Use a Ivory Master Staff (-10% CD enchant) and Full Rust Set. Use all boons drink 2 spiked alert potions. Turns out to 50% Cool Down reduction, 65% Mana Cost reduction (without mage sleeping bag/Wine), and 55%ish increased damage per Hex. The increased movement speed also helps you stay out of enemy melee.

Rune mage tree can definitely be it's own damage tree. You will want to get any source of ethereal damage buffs because rune mage's most powerful damage spells (runic trap and runic great blade) use ethereal damage. Runic trap is especially strong for its impact damage. The easy way is : farm quartz on the big guy at the clock, take tourmaline from the ornate chest at the clock, for the ice particle, use the puzzle and for the roots, it is easy. In one big hours you can have all the ingredients. It procs 20 damage and an extra status effect for each hex. That means that once the all of the hexes from the enchantment proc, you can hit Torment for 100 damage (haven't tested if its before or after the hexes are counted, but I know thats before boons) and a plethora of other status effects, 2 of which are DoTs.
